Anti-Racism Discipleship
Introduction to Trinity Covenant’s Anti-Racism Discipleship
This 6-month pathway of resources was designed by Dominique Gilliard, Director of Racial Righteousness and Reconciliation for the Evangelical Covenant Church, to facilitate personal growth and deepen Trinity Covenant’s convictions and commitment to anti-racism. This purposeful narrative pathway aligns with the ethos of our denominational initiatives of The Six-fold Test for Multiethnic Ministry and The Resolution on Anti-Racism. It’s organized thematically and in conjunction with racial/ethnic heritage months, when possible.
While this resource can be utilized on an individual basis, it is designed to be engaged with others and includes questions for discussion as well as recommendations for spiritual practices. As you reflect on the questions, please be open, specific, and self-aware. Additionally, as you engage the material, pay attention to ideas and concepts that resonate with you and that you feel resistance towards. This pathway has a rhythmic flow, each month beginning with a reflection question to help center and prepare you for the content you will engage. Generally, you will engage one resource each week culminating in a group discussion on the fourth week of every month. Our prayer is that our engagement and discussion will form and shape us into better neighbors and make us more effective in mission as disciples of Jesus.
